Today meet another of our workplace teams 2PM Arrivals and 2PM Departures.
Why are you participating in Tasmanian Iconic Walks first day walk?
2PM Services is Hobart’s leading professional project management organisation. At 2PM it’s people that make us tick. We value relationships and helping others to succeed. Two of our core values are Care and Collaboration. As a company, we strive to maintain an ‘outward mindset.’ We are so proud that so many of the 2PM team are ‘stepping up’ to live out these values through participating in the Tasmanian Iconic Walk and supporting the Stroke Foundation.
The walk offered the 2PM team a great opportunity to work together towards a common goal, improve our well-being and, long after the blisters are gone, we can take comfort in knowing that we have helped to make a difference in the lives of others.
8 members of the 2PM staff (and some partners) organised themselves into 2 teams, aptly named 2PM Arrivals and 2PM Departures. Training included lunchtime walks around Sandy Bay and up Mt Nelson as several of the teams were working on campus at UTas. There was quite a bit of friendly rivalry and banter between the two teams as they worked through their preparations.
One member of the Arrivals team encountered a rather unexpected obstacle on a recent lunchtime training walk.
The 2PM teams made a flying start to their fundraising efforts and to support the cause further the company 2PM offered the added incentive of matching funds raised dollar-for-dollar.
During the day all 8 participants walked together. Tasmanian Iconic Walks founder Jo Cordell-Cooper commented that it was unusual but highly desirable for teams to stay together. Often participants tended to split during the day, so it is quite special that this challenging 7 hour walk was completed together. It’s really respectful and the aige old adage that ‘those who play together stay together’ comes to mind.
